10 Boudie Tips before Boudoir Session

These are my 10 tips to help you prepare for your boudoir session.

Boudoir
The Boudoir Room

Try on your lingerie! ✨

Online shopping is very convenient until something you fell in love with and ordered doesn't fit right.

It is extremely important to try on all lingerie before you get to the studio. Try it on, bend over, squat low to the ground, hug yourself tight, lift your arms up. Make sure you are secure and can confidently move in your lingerie! We would hate to have a malfunction During the shoot!

Hydrate!

If you want healthy glowing skin that naturally glows in the lights, then you want to make sure you are properly hydrating your skin!

This is something you want to start doing as soon as you can. Not only is it healthy for you in general but staying hydrated will give you a natural glow that will reflect your highlights SO GOOD!

Get an Alibi!

This is specifically important if you are gifting your boudoir session to a significant other.

An alibi will help you keep the secret of your boudoir session. I recommend using a "girls day" as an easy way out, the session can take upwards of 4 hours total with hair & makeup so Lunch with the girls may need to run a little longer than usual!

Avoid Alcohol!

Trust me - I get it, a glass of wine to calm the nerves sounds like a harmless trick.

Though I would highly recommend going for a mocktail or a calming tea! Alcohol can cause puffiness, redness, and can even change your mood even with just a few sips. As a boudoir Photographer, t is my job to make sure you feel supported and confident during your session - you wont need the wine.

Get a Mani Pedi!

There is SO much that happens in the lens during the boudoir shoot. We embrace you and all your details. Getting a mani pedi will not only make you feel spoiled and treated, but you will know that your toes and tips are looking fresh and no one has to worry about hangnails, chipped paint, or missing nails!

Moisturize!

We cant glow when we are ashy ladies! staying hydrated will help with dry skin but if you are like me and have areas of dry skin no matter how much water you drink - its important to moisturize! It will help you look glowy & feel amazing!

Get rest & Destress

Avoid stress to the best of your abilities. Boudoir is about celebrating you, exactly how you come! Book a massage appointment before your boudoir session, practice self love or care routines to boost yourself up, D.I.Y an at home spa day for yourself the night before your session. Being in the right state of mind, changes a lot in every situation.

Stay with your current skin care routine!

After booking a boudoir session - is not the time to start playing with new skin care routines.

Wait until after your session has passed. If you start using a new product and have negative effects (worse breakouts, allergic reactions, etc.) it will definitely bring the confidence levels down - thats the LAST thing we want for boudoir!

Spray tanning!

AVOID spray tanning before your session.

If you need that golden look before your session its best to do so at least a week to two weeks before your session!

Hair Removal!

If you prefer to be hair free in certain areas then it is highly suggested by your boudoir photographer to use the waxing route!

Shaving can leave razor burn and other marks & cuts and make you feel less confident! If you are looking to book a boudoir session, check out our boudoir tab on our website for more information!
